La Catrina String Quartet

Western Piedmont Symphony is extremely pleased to announce the Hickory Metro Resident Quartet—La Catrina. 

The quartet consists of violinists Daniel Vega-Albela and Blake Espy, violist Jorge Martinez, and cellist Alan Daowz. 

La Catrina was founded in 2001 and have already won numerous awards and recognitions. They have performed all over the United States, Mexico, Japan and the United Kingdom. 

La Catrina will be the featured quartet of the Chamber Classics Series, the principal chairs of the WPS orchestra, and will perform a variety of outreach and educational programs throughout the Western Piedmont during their three year residency.
