WPS ANNUAL FUND DRIVE

UNDERWAY

The mission of the Western Piedmont Symphony is “to provide musical performances of distinction that enrich and enliven the community’s classical music experience and to nourish new audiences through school concerts and family outreach programs”. To protect the music of the Catawba Valley and the privilege of having live concerts available, the WPS is seeking financial support through their 2009 Annual Fund Campaign, which is now underway.

Each year the WPS must raise the funds needed to keep the music playing and the lights on!  In this severe financial environment, your financial support is crucial to insure the health and survival of the symphony organization. Ticket sales cover only a very small portion of the annual expenses; the remaining balances must come from fundraising and individual contributions. Your generosity is greatly appreciated and greatly needed.

The WPS is proud to present five Masterworks concerts each year, as well as five Chamber Classic Series performances and three Youth Symphony concerts.  WPS’s in-school music education program reaches over 30,000 students in our area. We also provide Silver Serenades for our older adults in nursing homes and assisted living centers as well as Rug Concerts for our very young children.

Chris Brown, WPS Executive Director commented, “Through your contribution and support, the Western Piedmont Symphony will continue to offer exceptional concerts and the best musical education for our young people.  You can enjoy live concerts throughout the year and be satisfied that your support improves the cultural offerings in the Unifour area, making it more attractive to residents and to prospective businesses.”
